A personal project. I rendered an animation of a face as a zdepth and used it to drive a realtime displacement through the displace-d plugin. Then I did an pointOnSurfaceConstraint on each of the 1862 pins using mel scripting. The animation was rendered in 4 layers, beauty, enviroment reflections for the glas, reflection for the table and ambient occlusion. I did the video tracking in SynthEyes and the compositing in After Effects.
